Jo Smith retiring from the AGSC

Departing AGSC Executive Director Jo Smith (right) with AGSC President Caitlin Yeo

Message from Caitlin Yeo - AGSC President:

We are devastated that Jo Smith is resigning from her position as the AGSC Executive Director after a long time of extraordinary service to our guild.

Over Jo’s remarkable tenure she has supported and run most of the functions of the Guild whilst serving alongside Presidents Martin Armiger, Chris Neal, Art Phillips, Clive Harrison, Guy Gross, David Hirschfelder (as National President) and me to tirelessly implement the initiatives and ideas of the boards at the time. One of Jo Smith’s remarkable strengths was her political prowess, which has been an invaluable asset to us all.

As such, she is leaving us to pursue her political career, continue her work running the Regal Cinema in Newcastle, and also begin her work in her newly appointed role on the AACTA board.

Jo will be officially finishing in her role at the end of July.

It has been an honour to serve alongside Jo, both as a board member and now as President. Jo will certainly be missed!

Caitlin
