Michael Darren is an award winning composer, sound-designer and re-recording mixer working in films and television. Starting at the age of 15 he started scoring theatre productions which lead to a successful career with State Theatre Co in South Australia. Michael then went onto work in Television and film throughout Australia and the United States. Michael has won numerous Sound and Music awards throughout his career. In 2016 (along with co-composers Chris Larkin and Luke Jurevicius) he was awarded the coveted Apra Screen Music Award for best children’s music for the (ABC TV, NETFLIX) show The New Adventures of Figaro Pho aswell as the ASSG award for Best sound for animated film. Michael recently composed, produced and performed and sound supervised the soundtrack for Rabbit, (Adelaide Clements, Veerle Baetens, Alex Russell) directed by Luke Shannahan. The film will be set for a wide release in August 2018 after a festival run which has included the Melbourne International Film Festival, Sitges International film festival and Fantastic Fest in the United States.
