Jared Underwood is an award winning musician, composer, percussionist, experimentalist and graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and AFTRS (Australian Film Radio and Television School). BATTERIE is his solo electronica act and the name under which he composes and releases game soundtracks. As BATTERIE, Jared has composed the music for indie mobile games including : OTTTD, One More Dash, PLATO, One More Jump, Thumb Drift and One More Line which has been downloaded more than 12 Million times. As a live act BATTERIE has supported New York art rock band Gang Gang Dance at the Sydney Opera House & opened for cult Japanese group CIBO MATTO. Jared has also been invited to give industry presentations about his game music soundtracks at APRA ‘High Score’ and GCAP 2017 gaming industry conference in Melbourne. Jared was the winner of TropScore 2013, he performed his winning film score live to picture at TROPFEST to an audience of 80,000 people in the Domain.As a full time composer in a prominent Sydney studio Jared wrote the music for numerous TV commercials including: Optus, Samsung, Hyundai, McDonalds, Australian Olympic Team, Tresemme, Best & Less, Flight Center & Ferrero. He has been nominated for 2 ARIA awards as a member of Cinematic art pop group CODA who have played Vivid Sydney, Woodford Folk festival, The Big Day Out and more. Jared was a founding member of Sydney post rock band PROP whose members went on to form The Presets and Boy & Bear. Prop supported Tortoise & Sonic Youth. As a collaborating musician he has worked with : Daniel Johns (Silverchair), Nick Littlemore (Empire of the Sun), Luke Steele, Hugo Race (Nick Cave) Jake Stone (Bluejuice), Jane Tyrell (The Herd), King Tide, Lenka, Grafton Primary, PROP, CODA, and more.
