David Cheshire is a classically trained Melbourne based composer, lyricist, pianist and music editor/engineer with a body of live and recorded work spanning more than three decades. His first foray into the world of television was as a sound assistant and music editor at Crawford Productions working on classic Australian drama such as The Sullivans, Cop Shop, All the Rivers Run, Carson's Law, Flying Doctors and Henderson Kids. He is proud to have been involved in the production of David Bridie's seminal album, Another Pond with the eclectic and award winning band, Not Drowning, Waving. David's experience blossomed composing music for documentaries, Mountains of Change and Iceshelf. A career highlight was writing the score for Sir David Attenborough's Portrait painter to the birds an ABC Natural History Wildscreen Series. Other TV series credits comprise Neighbours, Lift Off 1 & 2 (winner AFI Best Children's Drama), Li’l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers (nomination for Best Song in a Series, Mini-series or Feature Film in the AGSC Awards), Embassy 1 & 2, Pig’s Breakfast 1 & 2 and Winners & Losers. His live shows for the stadium feature Australian Outback Spectacular and The Man From Snowy River Arena Spectacular (ARIA Award for Best Cast Album). David's scores for A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie and When The Rain Stops Falling have been performed on a more intimate stage. David enjoys a long close working relationship with renowned composer, Bruce Rowland involving collaborations on many productions. Standouts include US TV series Ponderosa, feature film, The Cup and The Mysterious Explorations of Jasper Morello (winner Short Film Grand Prize, Annecy International Festival of Animated Film, BAFTA and Academy Award nominations). More recently he is delighted to have completed 52 episodes of the children's animated series Jar Dwellers SOS for Viskatoons on Channel 11.
