Little Boy Blue (2016) – Short film

Having been surrounded by films and television at an early age probably has something to do with his strong passion for story telling. He chose organised sound as a medium to tell other people’s stories as well as his own. Film music has always been his great love and every opportunity to serve a great picture is serenity as he puts it. Lim studied at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney Australia earning his stripes as an emerging film composer from the land down under. His sound is minimal, elegant and experimental although he does know how to pack a punch if needs be. Lim earned his first award nomination at the St Kilda Film Festival in Melbourne 2016 for his score for ‘Little Boy Blue’. He picked up his first award win 3 years later at the Made In The West Film Festival in Sydney for his ‘Campesinos’ score, which was reviewed highly by many peers and judges. Lim has a strong foundation in musical story telling, which is evident through his music, Darren Lim currently writes full time for film, television and advertisements at Rumble Studios Sydney.
