Andrée Greenwell is one of Australia’s leading and most versatile composers, working across the performing arts and screen industries. A multi-award winning composer, she is the recipient of the prestigious Australia Council for the Arts Music Fellowship, to compose works in 2018-2019. Andrée’s credits for over 100 scores include for Sydney Theatre Company, Symphony Australia, Australian Dance Theatre, Malthouse, Bell Shakespeare, Bell Shakespeare, Belvoir, Film Australia, Total Films, ABC, Queensland Music Festival and Sydney Festival. Screen credits include two feature documentaries ‘Back to the Back of Beyond’ about the groundbreaking Australia filmmaker John Heyer; and ’Refugio:TX’ by USA film director, Anne Marie Hess. As artistic director and composer of Green Room Music, Andrée has composed full-length performance works for Australia’s leading stages including the Sydney Opera House: ‘The Hanging of Jean Lee’, ‘Dreaming Transportation’, 'The Villainelles', and ‘Laquiem: Tales from the Mourning of the Lac Women’. Her multidisciplinary work ‘Gothic’, with triple screen HD projections by UK artist Michaela French, is to be remounted at the Melbourne Arts Centre, in 2018. Her most recent release is ‘Listen to Me’, a music broadcast/podcast in response to the problem of gendered violence.
